Questions at the gate
The answers we give most often, gathered from every line of the base.
What is Imaginext?
Imaginext is our Fisher-Price line of adventure toys for kids 3 to 8: 3-inch action figures, vehicles, playsets, launchers and robots that all work together.
How old is Imaginext?
We introduced Imaginext at Toy Fair in 2002. The figures from early sets still fit the vehicles and playsets we make today.
Does Imaginext still exist?
Yes. We release new Imaginext sets every year — recent waves include Jurassic World Rebirth, Toy Story launchers and DC Super Friends Metal Force.
What age is Imaginext for?
Imaginext toys are designed for ages 3 to 8. Launcher sets fire soft projectiles, and figures are sized for small hands.
Are old Imaginext toys worth anything?
Retired playsets and rare blind-bag figures are collected by fans, and complete boxed sets are the most sought after. For play, every figure — old or new — still fits the current line.
Where does my order ship from?
Every Imaginext set here opens its listing at our retail partner store; the order, delivery and any return are handled on that store's order page.
Do DC Super Friends figures fit every Imaginext vehicle?
Yes. The 3-inch figures share one size and joint layout, so Batman from a 2014 set rides in this year's Batmobile and the XL robots carry the same figures inside their cockpits.
What age are Imaginext DC Super Friends toys for?
We design them for kids 3 to 8. Launchers fire soft projectiles, and small parts are sized for preschool play with a grown-up nearby for the youngest crew.
Which DC set has the most play in it?
The robot playsets — Bat-Tech Batbot and the RC Transforming Batbot — combine a vehicle, a base and a robot, with lights and sounds. For a smaller start, a figure-and-vehicle pack gives a full chase for far less.
Are Imaginext dinosaurs safe for a 3-year-old?
They are designed for ages 3 and up, with soft-tip projectiles and chunky parts. As with any launcher toy, aim it away from faces.
Do the Jurassic World figures work with other Imaginext sets?
Yes — the 3-inch rangers fit every Imaginext vehicle, cockpit and playset, including DC and Toy Story ones.
Which Imaginext T. rex is the biggest?
The 18-inch Ultimate Action Chomp T. rex from Jurassic World Rebirth and the classic T. rex with Owen Grady are the two largest, both with chomping action and light-up eyes.
Can the Toy Story launchers race each other?
Yes — each launcher set fires its vehicle with a slap of the pad, and kids can line several up to race Woody, Buzz and Jessie.
Are Toy Story Imaginext figures the same size as Batman figures?
They are. Every Imaginext figure is about 3 inches tall, so Buzz can pilot the Batmobile if the story calls for it.
What is the biggest Imaginext Toy Story set?
The Buzz Lightyear Robot playset and the Transforming Buzz Lightyear Ship are the largest, with lights, sounds and launching projectiles.
What do the Imaginext metal character keys do?
Each key is a small metal figure that fits a slot in its playset and triggers lights, sounds and phrases — and doubles as a collectible.
How tall is the Imaginext Darth Vader Bot?
It stands just over two feet tall and comes with a Stormtrooper metal character key.
Do the pirate ships float?
They are built for floor and table play rather than water, with wheels or flat bases so kids can push them across the room.
Are the jungle gorilla sets compatible with other Imaginext figures?
Yes — the 3-inch explorers and the monkey army share the same scale as every other Imaginext figure.
Can you tell which figure is in an Imaginext blind bag?
No — each series pack is sealed and the figure inside is a surprise; that is the fun of the hunt.
Are Imaginext Power Rangers still made?
The Power Rangers packs are earlier releases, so we list only the ones still available to order.
